The first Cleantech Hero in Mobility has been announced. And once again, the jury was in almost complete agreement. In these times, when climate concerns go hand in hand with the search for sustainable non-fossil energy, hydrogen-powered heavy transport is a big step in the right direction. That's why E-Trucks Europe can call itself a real Cleantech Hero of Mobility.

The jury was again very impressed by the level of the candidates. They were assessed on the relevance of the innovations, the TRL level, the impact in Flanders and the company's international ambitions, the extent to which the company can act as an ambassador for Flemish cleantech, the implementation of the SDGs and the cooperation with all links of the quadruple helix.

After an initial selection, three finalists emerged in the Mobility category: E-Trucks Europe, Aptus and Rear Window. The selection of E-Trucks Europe was thoroughly justified by the jury. The technology that the company offers makes an immediate contribution to lower CO2 emissions in traffic and hydrogen-powered trucks are an integral part of innovative cleantech. It is a clean technology that has the potential to achieve an exceptionally large sustainability impact at home and abroad.  On top of that, the technology offered by E-Trucks Europe is ready for the market. The choice of trucks for waste collection is particularly appreciated. After all, this involves silent but necessary transport in close proximity to citizens. “Entrepreneurs like these who dare to ‘jump’ and invest are needed to get hydrogen off the ground as a sustainable fuel.” Especially when it comes to heavy transport.

About E-Trucks Europe

E-Trucks Europe is based in Lommel and specialises in looking for innovative options in sustainable transport. It produces hydrogen-hybrid vehicles with an electric power train. This means that the E-Trucks Europe are silent on the road and generate no emissions. Thanks to the built-in hydrogen system, which turns hydrogen into electricity, the vehicles can be used 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and remain clean.
